Security Guard in Ogun State Arrested Over Alleged Assault on Minor

A dramatic turn of events unfolded in Ogun State as detectives from the Agbado Division of the Ogun State Police Command apprehended a 32-year-old security guard, Abraham Aneka, in connection with allegations of defilement and intimidation of a 16-year-old girl. The incident, which occurred on the night of June 9, 2026, was reported to the authorities by a family member of the victim, who stated that the young girl was accosted by Aneka while on her way home in the Abule-Ijoko area. According to the report, Aneka, who was armed with a locally made single-barrel gun, allegedly threatened the girl before taking her to his residence. Following a swift response by the police, Aneka was tracked down, arrested, and the firearm allegedly used in the crime was recovered. The police also visited the scene of the incident as part of their ongoing investigation. DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, spokesperson for the command, confirmed the arrest, stating that preliminary investigations revealed that Aneka had unlawful carnal knowledge of the minor without her consent and attempted to rob her. The victim has been taken to a hospital for medical examination and treatment, and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Abeokuta for further investigation. Aneka remains in custody pending the outcome of the investigation and subsequent prosecution.
