A dramatic turn of events has unfolded in Ghana as a woman, identified as Mahama Aminat, also known by her alias Akosua Serwaa Minat, has been apprehended by the Ghanaian police. The reason behind her arrest is her alleged involvement in creating and disseminating videos on the social media platform TikTok, where she was seen making derogatory comments about President John Dramani Mahama and even went as far as threatening his life. Furthermore, she allegedly incited violence against both the President and the First Lady. According to a statement issued by the Ghanaian police on Thursday, May 21, 2026, the arrest was a result of a collaborative effort between the Inspector-General of Police's Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team and the Surveillance Unit of the National Operations Department. The suspect was taken into custody on May 20, 2026, in the Sekyere Kumawu District of the Ashanti Region, specifically in the area known as Sekyere Zongo. The police have confirmed that the suspect is currently being held in police custody and will be arraigned in court to face the consequences of her actions.
