BBNaija Star Bella's Legal Team Rejects Sheggz's Defamation Suit, Alleges Deceit

The legal representatives of ex-Big Brother Naija contestant Bella Okagbue have vehemently refuted the defamation accusations brought against her by her former partner, Segun "Sheggz" Olusemo, as their public disagreement continues to unfold. In a formal communication dated August 24, 2026, Bella's legal counsel dismissed the claims outlined in a cease-and-desist letter sent on behalf of Sheggz, categorizing them as “spurious and baseless.”

Bella’s lawyers contended that the remarks made by their client on various social media platforms were genuine expressions of her feelings and did not constitute defamatory statements that could harm Sheggz’s reputation. Furthermore, they put forth allegations that the relationship between Bella and Sheggz involved a “breach of promise to marry and misrepresentation of intentions that amounts to deceit.”

The legal team representing Bella also asserted that Sheggz fraudulently obtained several loans from their client. They declared their intention to pursue this matter in a competent court of law, stating they possess corroborating evidence to substantiate these serious claims. Consequently, Bella's lawyers rejected all of Sheggz's demands, which included a retraction, a public apology, and an order to cease-and-desist, maintaining that Bella had not uttered any false or defamatory statements.

In a further development, Bella's legal team accused a lawyer from Sheggz's camp of allegedly harassing their client by inundating her with uninvited messages, phone calls, and video calls at inappropriate hours. They issued a stern warning to the said lawyer to immediately cease such unprofessional conduct.
