Madrid Breaks €1.2 Billion Revenue Barrier Despite Trophy-less Season

Spanish football powerhouse, Real Madrid, has announced an unprecedented revenue generation of 1.221 billion euros (approximately $1.39 billion) for the 2025/2026 financial year. This remarkable financial feat was achieved despite the club's inability to secure any major trophy during the period.
In an official statement released on Tuesday, "Los Blancos" confirmed that their operating revenue, which excludes earnings from player transfers, reached the staggering figure of €1.221 billion. This represents a 3.1 percent increase compared to the previous financial year. The club highlighted that this marks the first time Real Madrid has surpassed the €1.2 billion threshold, a benchmark currently unmatched by any other sports organization globally, solidifying their position as the leading revenue generator in the sports industry.
Beyond the impressive top-line revenue, Real Madrid also reported a net profit after tax of 26 million euros ($30 million), an 8 percent improvement over their earnings in the 2024/25 season. This robust financial performance was significantly bolstered by an 11 percent surge in income derived from their newly renovated Santiago Bernabeu stadium, contributing €363 million ($413 million). Additionally, new sponsorship deals played a crucial role in enhancing the club's financial standing.
Following two seasons without a significant trophy, the club appointed Jose Mourinho as head coach in June, succeeding Alvaro Arbeloa. In a bid to rejuvenate their squad, Real Madrid has already made several key signings this summer, including Bernardo Silva and Marc Cucurella. Media reports further indicate that the club has agreed terms with Ivorian winger Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig, while Manchester City midfielder Rodri is also rumored to be a target as the club continues its strategic squad overhaul.
