The Bauchi State Government has lifted the suspension placed on commercial activities in some cattle markets across the state ahead of the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir festival. Recall that the state government had on April 9 announced the immediate suspension of activities in selected cattle markets located in Alkaleri, Bauchi, Kirfi and Tafawa Balewa Local Government Areas for security reasons. However, the lifting was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Bala Mohammed, Mukhtar Gidado. He added that the decision was taken in consultation with security agencies, who, alongside local authorities and traditional leaders, would continue to monitor activities in the markets to ensure security and peaceful conduct.
