The senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, on Monday officially submitted her Peoples Democratic Party senatorial nomination forms in Abuja, formally signalling her readiness to seek re-election in 2027. The lawmaker arrived at the PDP national secretariat accompanied by supporters and political associates, drawing attention in a wine and red outfit complemented by her trademark dark eyeglasses. Akpoti-Uduaghan, who is seeking a second term in the Senate, is expected to face stiff competition from the ruling All Progressives Congress, where former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, is widely speculated to be interested in the seat. Speaking shortly after submitting the nomination forms, the senator thanked members of her constituency and the PDP for their continued support and confidence in her leadership. “I remain committed to the service of my people and the advancement of democratic values. This journey is not about personal ambition alone, but about sustaining purposeful representation, youths and women empowerment and ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach every community,” she said. • APC threatens to suspend aspirants undermining primaries • 2027: Ogun APC members protest, demand participation in primaries • Kwara Christians back Tinubu’s re-election, Mustapha for gov The senator, known for her outspoken style and advocacy on governance and social issues, said her priority remained the development of Kogi Central through improved infrastructure, education, healthcare and economic opportunities. “We have started a movement of hope, inclusion, and progress.
