The family of the Enugu State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Malachy Agbo, has announced the death of his mother, Mrs. Laurita Agbo (née Ortuanya). Mrs. Agbo died at Niger Foundation Hospital, Enugu, after a brief illness on Friday, May 8, 2026. This was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the commissioner on behalf of the family and made available to PUNCH Online. The commissioner expressed appreciation to those who have shown support, prayers, and solidarity with the family during this difficult time. He also prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul. The family further announced that funeral and burial arrangements for the late Mrs. Agbo will be communicated in due course.
