The Nigerian Air Force has graduated a new set of intelligence personnel as part of efforts to strengthen intelligence-led operations and enhance national security across the country. The graduation ceremony for participants of Basic Intelligence Course 34/2026 was held on Friday, 8 May 2026, at the Nigerian Air Force School of Air Intelligence. In a post obtained from NAF’s X handle on Sunday, representing the Chief of Air Intelligence, Air Vice Marshal Nnamdi Ananaba, the Director of Air Intelligence, Air Vice Marshal Emmanuel Ukpong, described the graduation as “another significant milestone in the sustained effort to produce highly professional intelligence personnel capable of supporting national security objectives.” Ukpong said the changing security environment requires “well-trained and mission-oriented intelligence operatives equipped to effectively support ongoing counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations.” According to him, the course provided specialised training in intelligence operations, operational analysis, security support, and mission-focused capability development aimed at improving the participants’ analytical, reporting, and decision-making abilities. • Army arrests suspected bandits, recovers arms in Kaduna, Abia operations • Demand for names of reintegrated 744 ‘repentant terrorists’ misplaced – Safe Corridor Coordinator, Brig Gen Yusuf Ali • 50 ISWAP members, two soldiers killed in Yobe He stressed the importance of actionable intelligence in military operations, noting that “producing credible and timely intelligence remains critical to operational effectiveness and strategic decision-making.” The senior officer also urged the graduating personnel to uphold professionalism and discipline in the discharge of their duties. “You must continue to uphold integrity, teamwork, and continuous self-development in line with emerging technological advancements and contemporary security realities,” he said. The graduation, he noted, reflects the commitment of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, to strengthening intelligence capacity development and advancing intelligence-led operations within the Air Force. The Nigerian Air Force added that sustained investment in training institutions and human capital development remains vital to improving mission readiness and operational effectiveness in addressing evolving security threats while supporting peace and national stability.
